About Nursing Vidyarthi

  • What is Nursing Vidyarthi?

An online preparation platform for NORCET and nursing-officer exams. You practise with exam-style questions, take mock tests with NORCET’s real marking, and get a skill map of your strong and weak topics. The platform then adapts — it gives you more practice where you need it most.

  • How is it different from a regular test series?

A regular test series counts how many questions you’ve solved. Nursing Vidyarthi decides what you should solve next — based on your accuracy and speed in every topic — so your practice time goes where it moves your score.

  • Which exams does it prepare me for?

It’s built for AIIMS NORCET. Because most nursing-officer and staff-nurse exams (ESIC, RRB, DSSSB, state exams, CHO) test the same core nursing subjects, it helps with those too — but our tests follow the NORCET syllabus and pattern. See other exams.

  • Who writes the questions?

Qualified nursing educators write and review them. Every question passes an editorial review before it’s published, and keeps a full history of changes. If you spot an error, flag it in the app and our faculty will review it.

  • Are you affiliated with AIIMS or the Nursing Council?

No. Nursing Vidyarthi is independent and not connected to AIIMS, the Indian Nursing Council, any State Nursing Council or any exam body. For official information, always use the exam’s official website.

  • Are these actual previous-year NORCET questions?

No. Our questions are original, written to match the NORCET syllabus, style and difficulty. We don’t claim any question is an official exam question.

  • Is it available in Hindi?

Not yet — the app is in English, as is the NORCET paper’s nursing content. Hindi support is on our list.

Getting started & account

  • Is it free?

Yes, you can start free — no card needed. The free plan includes 1 diagnostic test, 2 mock tests and 7 practice sessions. Premium unlocks unlimited practice, the full mock library and adaptive practice, from ₹299 for a month. See pricing.

  • How do I sign up?

Tap Start free, enter your mobile number, and type the OTP we send. Then tell us your name, target exam and exam year. That’s it — no password.

  • Why is there no password?

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your phone. There’s nothing to forget, and nobody can sign in without access to your phone.

  • I’m not receiving the OTP. What should I do?

Wait 30–60 seconds, check you entered the right number, and make sure your phone has signal and isn’t blocking messages from unknown senders. OTPs are transactional, so they arrive even if your number is on DND. If you requested several codes, wait a few minutes — repeated requests are paused for security. Still stuck? Contact us.

  • Can I change the mobile number on my account?

Your number is your account identity, so changes are handled by support after we verify you own the account. Contact us.

  • Can I share my account with a friend?

No. Accounts are personal — your skill map and recommendations are built from your own answers, and sharing breaks them. Sharing is also against our Terms and can lead to suspension.

  • Is there an app to download?

Nursing Vidyarthi runs in your phone’s browser at study.nursingvidyarthi.com — nothing to install, and it works on any modern phone, tablet or computer. Tip: use your browser’s “Add to Home screen” for one-tap access.

  • How do I delete my account?

Send a request from Contact (topic: Privacy / data request) or email grievance@nursingvidyarthi.com from the email on your account. We verify it’s you, then delete or anonymise your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

  • Is there a minimum age?

Yes — you must be 18 or older. That’s also the minimum age to sit NORCET.

Tests & features

  • What is a diagnostic test?

A broad test across subjects and difficulty levels that maps what you know. It isn’t graded like a mock — its job is to build your skill map so the app can personalise your practice.

  • How close are the mocks to the real exam?

Mocks follow NORCET’s marking (+1, −⅓, 0), timing and structure: 100 questions in 90 minutes, with timed sections that lock once submitted. They draw on exam-worthy questions only.

  • How does adaptive practice work?

After every session we update your accuracy and speed for each topic and difficulty. Adaptive practice then picks more questions from your weak topics, at a level you’re ready for — and fewer from topics you’ve mastered. It’s part of Premium.

  • Can I make my own test?

Yes. Choose subjects, topics, difficulty, importance, number of questions, and timed or untimed. You can also build a test from your weakest topics.

  • What do “difficulty” and “importance” mean?

Every question is tagged with difficulty (1 = easy to 5 = very hard) and importance (1 = rarely tested to 5 = extremely important for the exam). You can filter by both, and mocks use only exam-worthy questions.

  • Do questions have explanations?

Yes — each question has an explanation of the correct answer, shown in review after you answer.

  • What is “expected time”?

Each question has an estimate of how long a prepared student needs to solve it. Your time is compared with it, so a long clinical scenario isn’t judged like a one-line recall question.

  • What happens if my internet drops during a test?

Your answers are saved as you go. Reconnect and you’ll resume exactly where you were — in a timed test the clock follows the exam’s rules.

  • I think an answer is wrong. What do I do?

Tap the flag on that question and tell us why. Faculty review every flag, and corrections are applied for everyone.

  • Will the app tell me if I’m ready for the exam?

It shows your accuracy, speed and progress by topic, honestly. We don’t show a “you will pass” score — no app can promise that — but you’ll see clearly where you stand and what to fix.

  • Do mocks show an all-India rank?

    Not at the moment.

NORCET

  • What is NORCET?

The Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test, conducted by AIIMS New Delhi to recruit Nursing Officers for AIIMS institutions. Read the full guide.

  • Who can apply for NORCET?

B.Sc / B.Sc (Hons) / Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing graduates, or GNM diploma holders with 2 years’ experience in a 50+ bed hospital — registered as Nurse & Midwife, and aged 18–30 with category relaxations. Details.

  • Does NORCET have negative marking?

Yes: −⅓ mark for each wrong answer, +1 for a correct one, and 0 for unattempted. How to use it to your advantage.

  • When is the next NORCET?

AIIMS has recently held NORCET about twice a year. Dates are announced in each notification on aiimsexams.ac.in.

  • Can GNM diploma holders apply?

Yes, with registration as Nurse & Midwife and at least 2 years’ experience in a hospital of 50 or more beds after GNM.

  • How long should I prepare?

Most students plan 4–6 months, but it depends on where you start. Take a diagnostic to find out — then plan around your weak areas. Preparation strategy.

Payments & plans

  • What does Premium include?

  • Can I get a refund?
